In Brazil this year, it was a drematic world cup with massive upsets, relief, tears and history was made. Germany went in having confidence that they would win by playing as a team. But the only reason why Portugal, Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina and others didn’t so well is because they count on a few players to do all the work. I mean what would Brazil be like without Neymar or Uruguay without Luiz Suarsez or even Portugal without Cristiano Ronaldo. My point of view is the only teams that play like actual team is Germany, Spain, Chile, Italy and U.S.A. Spain didn’t do so well this world cup is because they lack good finishers to put the ball into the back of the net. Look at Barclona and Real Madrid, over half of there players play for Spain and they don’t have Messi or Benzama. But there are some teams that do have amazing players but weakness comes down to depth of players and on the other hand Germany have the best young talent but they can do with some young defenders coming in.
It was a massive upset for Brazil when they played at home and the european’s aren’t used to the humadity of the condition. It was a difesating loss to Brazil losing 7-1 to Germany and that tied with the biggest defeat ever with a 6-0 loss to Uruguay in 1920. They just got past Colombia 2-1 and that was when Zuniga kned Neymar in the back. But Colombia went out of the world cup with happiness when it was the first time ever that they came in the top 8 of the world cup and they didn’t have there key player Falcao but they still had James Rodregiez.
Germany went of to a good start winning 4-0 to Portugal. It was a perfect day for Germany with Pepe getting a red card early in the match and Ronaldo failing to shine. Also Muller getting a hat trick and at that point it looked like he was going to get the Golden Boot once again. Next they had to play Ghana which they struggled in, after Mario Gotze scroed they thought they had it but Ghana come back with stunners by Gyan and Ayew. But Klose came back and drew the game 2-2. They cruised past U.S.A with brilliant skills by Thomas Muller.
After coming first in group G they got to the knock-out stages and that was when it got tough. They just got past Algeria with the super-sup Andre Sruccle had a little magic with t back foot. Germany went into the Quatar-Finals with confidence that they would go all the way. But France were willing to take them on, it was only a Mats Hummels header that could seperate them. Brazil were worred when they had to play without star player Neymar or captain Thiago Silva. They ended up getting smashed 7-1 with amazing work from Ozil, Muller, Klose, Kroos and Kherdira. Germany had to shut down Messi in the final against Argentina, but they didn’t mark Higuian. Gonzalo had two great chances but failed to score with missing a shot and being offside. It had to go into extra time but Argentina’s defence cracked so it allowed a Gotze goal with a Sruccle cross to end Argentina’s dreams with a
1-0 win. Germany desefed it with being the strongest team in the tournment.
